Computational Aspects of Generic Risk Based Inspection Planning

Abstract

The paper introduces the generic approach to risk based inspection planning (RBI) for structures, with a special focus on the computational aspects of the procedure. Following a summary of the generic RBI procedure, efficient schemes for the calculation of generic inspection plans are presented and discussed. The application of the generic inspection plans through interpolation is demonstrated and its accuracy is investigated. Finally an overview is given on some recent applications of the generic RBI in practice, including the implementation in efficient software tools.
